Mac Attack
I was a loyal PC user all through high school and the first two years of college, but something happened. For one, my pc notebook stayed in repair more than it did in my own two hands freshman and sophomore year of college. Secondly, when I came to the west coast I was introduced to another type of computer: The Apple. My memory of apple computers was very vague mainly because the last time I saw one was in elementary school when my addiction to Oregon Trial dictated my life. Upon being reintroduced to the alternative computer I realized that I was missing out on alot. My parents, having just spent a small fortune on my notebook was not about to buy another one just because I thought they were better. No, I would have to tough out the painful relationship I was in with my pc. As the months wore on it became almost unbearable at some point; so much that I would often opt to write my papers in the library on a mac while my laptop sat in my room collecting dust. Finally the week of final fall quarter junior year my laptop died with no chance of being revived. This was my chance; for Christmas I got Duchess, my 14'' iBook and I have never been happier. Wonder where this is going? Right here Newbie has crush on his MacTurns out I'm not the only one who has impressed with Apple since switching sides. The versatility, ease, and sleek design both internally and externally are attracting a new following; those who have been wounded by the false promises that windows machines have promised year after year. Macs aren't for everyone though. There are those who live and die by windows and that's great. They enjoy the many hours they have to spend repairing, rebooting, and reinstalling. They take joy in knowing that they are apart of their machines well being, and would never change. However, those who have switched over realized that the time spent on repair can be spent on other things like automator, widgets, and taking up new hobbies as their mac simply exists with slim to no special attention. I realize that this is a very bias entry but afterall I am writing it on my mac.
